1. A system comprising:
a pulse generator including a housing, the pulse generator configured to generate therapeutic electrical pulses;
at least one lead configured to electrically couple with the pulse generator, the at least one lead including an electrode; and
a controller configured for:
detecting a heartbeat of a patient based on initial sensor data from one or more sensors;
determining, in real time, that a therapeutic electrical pulse to the heart of the patient is not needed;
continuing to gather additional data from one or more sensors over a period of time;
determining, based on the additional data, that the therapeutic electrical pulse was actually needed; and
overruling the determination that the therapeutic electrical pulse was not needed and delivering a therapeutic electrical pulse to the heart of the patient.
