1. An ambulatory infusion pump, comprising:
a reservoir configured to contain a medicament for treatment of diabetes;
a pumping mechanism configured to deliver the medicament in the reservoir to a user;
a memory configured to store one or more medicament delivery protocols for delivery of the medicament to the user; and
a processor configured to:
determine a type of medicament contained in the reservoir;
modify a medicament delivery protocol of the one or more medicament delivery protocols to an alternate medicament delivery protocol of the one or more medicament delivery protocols based on the type of medicament contained in the reservoir; and
cause the pumping mechanism to deliver the type of medicament contained in the reservoir to the user according to the alternate medicament delivery protocol.
