1. An apparatus for providing breathing gas to a patient comprising:
a base unit configured to provide a first flow of gas and a second flow of gas;
a humidifier configured to be coupled to the base unit and including:
a first gas flow path configured to receive and humidify the first flow of gas;
a fluid supply reservoir having a generally circular cross section having a central opening therein and configured to receive a flow of fluid for humidification;
a second gas flow path configured to receive the second flow of gas and to be coupled to the humidifier to insulate at least a portion of first gas flow path, the second gas flow path extending through the central opening of the fluid supply reservoir;
a membrane at least partially separating the first gas flow path and the fluid supply reservoir; and
an insulation chamber at least partially surrounding the first gas flow path and configured to receive the second flow of gas; and
a delivery tube assembly configured to be coupled to the humidifier and including a first lumen configured to be in fluid communication with the first gas flow path and a second lumen at least partially surrounding the first lumen and configured to insulate the first lumen.
