1. A device for loading an intraocular lens, comprising:
a base member, comprising:
an intraocular lens receiving region configured to house an intraocular lens, and
a cartridge receiving region;
a side port for receiving a fluid, wherein the side port is in fluid communication with the intraocular lens receiving region; and
a cartridge configured to be coupled to the cartridge receiving region of the base member, wherein the cartridge is configured to receive the intraocular lens from the intraocular lens receiving region after the intraocular lens receiving region is lubricated by the fluid introduced through the side port.
