1. A method of vision prescription measurement, the method comprising:
presenting, on a display of a mobile device, one or more misaligned Vernier targets or grating targets configured to represent perfect vision;
determining, using the mobile device, accurate sizes and shapes of the Vernier targets or grating targets based on the distance between the patient and the mobile device; and
determining, using the mobile device, when the patient can accurately identify the one or more misaligned Vernier targets or grating patterns in the grating targets,
wherein if the patient can correctly identify the one or more misaligned Vernier targets or grating patterns in the grating targets, communicating using the mobile device that the patient that no prescription for the patient is not required, and
wherein if the patient cannot correctly identify the one or more misaligned Vernier targets or grating patterns in the grating targets, communicating using the mobile device to move the mobile device until the patient can accurately identify the one or more misaligned Vernier targets or grating patterns in the grating targets, and calculating, using the mobile device, a prescription for the patient using a distance between the patient and the mobile device.
