1. A knitted component for an upper for an article of footwear, the knitted component comprising:
a first portion forming a toe area, a midfoot area, and a heel area of the upper, the first portion having a first layer and a second layer, wherein the second layer at least partially forms an underfoot area of the article of footwear, wherein the first layer and the second layer are secured to one another with a first knit structure of the knitted component located at a boundary of the first portion, and wherein the first layer and the second layer are secured to one another along the boundary in at least the heel area of the first portion;
a second portion at least partially forming an outer surface of a medial or a lateral side of the article of footwear, wherein the second portion is secured to the first portion with a second knit structure located at the boundary, and wherein the second portion continuously extends from within the toe area to within the heel area of the upper and overlaps with at least part of the first portion; and
a forward portion extending from an end of the first portion and secured to the first portion with a third knit structure located at the boundary in the toe area of the knitted component,
wherein an entirety of the boundary is aligned with a biteline of the article of footwear in the heel area, and wherein the boundary continuously extends from a medial side of the heel area, across an end of the heel area, and to a lateral side of the heel area.
