1. A method performed by a terminal in a wireless communication system, the method comprising:
receiving measurement gap configuration information configuring a measurement gap offset, a measurement gap length, and a measurement gap period;
receiving channel state information (CSI) configuration information;
identifying a measurement gap based on the measurement gap configuration information wherein the measurement gap is configured for evolved universal terrestrial radio access (EUTRA) and new radio (NR) which are associated with dual connectivity supported in the communication system;
identifying a valid downlink time resource for a CSI measurement based on the CSI configuration information, wherein the valid downlink time resource does not fully overlap with the measurement gap and wherein the valid downlink time resource includes at least one symbol which does not overlap with the measurement gap; and
performing the CSI measurement based on the valid downlink time resource.
