1. An intelligent electronic shoe (IES) system, the IES system comprising:
a shoe structure configured to attach to and support thereon a foot of a user;
a controller-automated alert system mounted to the shoe structure and including a lighting component configured to generate visible outputs responsive to command signals;
a wireless communications device configured to wirelessly communicate with a remote computing node, the remote computing node including a portable electronic device borne by the user and wirelessly communicating with a third-party host system; and
a controller mounted on or inside the shoe structure and operatively connected to the wireless communications device and the alert system, the controller being configured to:
receive, from the remote computing node, a first input signal indicating a user location of the user is within a predetermined location of a motor vehicle and/or a predetermined proximity to the motor vehicle;
responsive to receipt of the first input signal, transmit an alert command signal to the alert system to output a predetermined visible alert perceptible by the user and/or the motor vehicle; and
coordinate the visible alert with a vehicle light output from the motor vehicle.
