1. A gas turbine engine of an aircraft, the gas turbine engine comprising:
a compressor section;
a combustor section;
a turbine section;
an engine control configured to monitor and control operation of the gas turbine engine in real-time; and
a communication adapter comprising a housing and a plurality of antennas in the housing, wherein the communication adapter is configured to establish communication with the engine control and wireless communication with an offboard system external to the aircraft through at least one of the antennas of the communication adapter, and wherein the housing comprises a metal chassis with a non-conductive substrate between the metal chassis and the antennas, the antennas are partitioned into two or more portions in different quadrants of the housing, and wherein a communication interface of the communication adapter is configured to establish wireless communication through the antennas using two or more different wireless communication protocols.
