1. A method of selecting a region for determining a presence of a bubble in an image, comprising:
tracking a location of at least a portion of an instrument positioned within a subject in a subject space defined by the subject;
accessing a current image of the subject having an image space that is registered to the subject space;
determining a location of the instrument within the image space based on the tracked location of the instrument and the accessed current image;
determining a region of interest in the accessed current image and image space based at least on the determined location of the instrument within the image space;
analyzing image data of the current image with at least a bubble image library to determine if a bubble is present in the current image within the region of interest;
identifying image portions of the analyzed current image that include the bubble;
generating a comparison image by removing the identified image portions in the current image that include the bubble; and
outputting feedback to a user in light of the comparison image regarding continuing with a procedure performed by the instrument.
