1. A method comprising:
determining a user visual impairment;
based at least in part on the determining the user visual impairment, accessing metadata for a plurality of media content items;
determining, by processing circuitry, based at least in part on the metadata, that a first visual impairment favorability factor of a first media content item of the plurality of media content items is greater than a second visual impairment favorability factor of a second media content item of the plurality of media content items,
wherein the first visual impairment favorability factor of the first media content item indicates a first ratio of vocal output of words per unit of time of the first media content item, and the second visual impairment favorability factor of the second media content item indicates a second ratio of vocal output of words per unit of time of the second media content item, and wherein the first ratio is greater than the second ratio;
selecting, by the processing circuitry, the first media content item for user recommendation based at least in part on the first visual impairment favorability factor of the first media content item and the second visual impairment favorability factor of the second media content item; and
generating for presentation, by the processing circuitry, an identifier of the first media content item for the user recommendation, wherein interactive selection of the identifier of the first media content item causes presentation of the first media content item.
