1. A method comprising:
responsive to a control plane request associated with a first core network element:
pausing processing of the control plane request by a second core network element while performing a security verification; and
activating, by the second core network element, a security agent to generate a query for the security verification; and
determining, by the second core network element, a validation status of the first core network element via a security verification device according to the query for the security verification, wherein the query includes a current value associated with the first core network element, and wherein the security verification device compares the current value with a second value representing an unmodified state of the first core network element.
