1. A system comprising:
at least one network adapter configured to communicate with a communication network;
at least one processor; and
at least one storage medium containing program instructions that, when executed by the at least one processor, cause the at least one processor to carry out a method comprising:
in response to obtaining information regarding a potential collision between a vehicle and an object:
obtaining, for a time period extending before and after a time of the potential collision, data describing the vehicle during the time period via the communication network;
determining, based at least in part on the data describing the vehicle during the time period, a likelihood that the potential collision is a non-collision event by determining whether the data describing the vehicle during the time period satisfy one or more criteria for a non-collision event; and
in response to determining that the likelihood indicates that the potential collision is not a non-collision event:
triggering one or more actions responding to the potential collision.
