1. A method comprising:
at a device including a display, a non-transitory memory, and one or more processors coupled with the non-transitory memory:
obtaining a request to display an extended reality (XR) object that is associated with a set of one or more visual properties;
detecting a user input characterizing one or more customizations for the XR object;
identifying, based on the one or more customizations, a set of one or more physical appearance elements for the XR object, wherein the set of one or more physical appearance elements is associated with respective values for at least one visual property among the set of one or more visual properties;
modifying a value for the at least one visual property associated with the XR object based on the respective values associated with the set of one or more physical appearance elements; and
displaying, via the display, the XR object in accordance with the value for the at least one visual property.
