1. A computing system for implementing a smart edge platform, comprising:
an abstracted sensor driver communicatively coupleable an external sensor to receive sensor data in a first format native to the external sensor;
one or more communication components communicatively coupleable to one or more external computing devices;
at least one processor; and
at least one memory storing computer-executable instructions that, when executed by the at least one processor, control the smart edge platform to:
instantiate a residential user interface at the smart edge platform, wherein the residential user interface is configured to provide a network-accessible interface to any of the one or more external computing devices via at least one of the one or more communication components;
receive the sensor data from the external sensor in the first format;
process the sensor data, wherein processing the sensor data includes converting the sensor data from the first format to a second format native to the residential user interface; and
send the processed sensor data to the residential user interface enabling the processed data to be accessible to the one or more external computing devices via the residential user interface without running software specific to the external sensor.
