1. A method implemented by a network interface card in a storage device, wherein the method comprises:
receiving an input/output (I/O) request comprising a data read request or a data write request;
making an attempt to execute a metadata processing task corresponding to the I/O request, wherein an address length of a logical address in the data read request exceeds a length threshold when the attempt fails; and
requesting, in response to the attempt failing and the I/O request being the data read request, a central processing unit (CPU) in the storage device to execute the metadata processing task.
