1. An electric discharge machine comprising a liquid tank configured to store liquid, a drain valve configured to open and close a drain port for draining the liquid stored in the liquid tank, and an actuator configured to drive the drain valve,
the electric discharge machine further comprising:
a liquid level sensor configured to detect a liquid level of the liquid stored in the liquid tank; and
a control unit configured to control the actuator in a manner so that an amount of opening of the drain valve increases as the liquid level detected by the liquid level sensor decreases.
