1. A controller for a pH probe comprising:
a first interface for controlling a pH probe;
a second interface for controlling a source of vibration of the pH probe; and
a processor coordinating operation of the source of vibration via the second interface and the pH probe via the first interface, the processor adapted to determine at least two controllable aspects of the source of vibration selected from a list consisting of amplitude, oscillation frequency, duration, period, start time, stop time, and delay between the stop time and the start time.
