1. A process for making organic chemical products from solid sustainable carbon materials, the process comprising:
providing solid sustainable carbon material to a gasifier;
gasifying the solid sustainable carbon material to produce a first stream comprising CO, H2, CO2, and a mixture of organic compounds;
converting the organic compounds in the first stream, comprising partially oxidizing the organic compounds using a first converter, and hydrocarbon in a second stream, comprising partially oxidizing the hydrocarbon, using a second converter, the second stream comprising hydrocarbon derived from a fossil source, to CO, H2, and CO2, to form one or more gas streams comprising CO, H2, and CO2;
converting at least a portion of CO in the one or more gas streams to CO2 to increase H2 in the one or more gas streams and to form one or more converted streams;
separating CO2 from the one or more converted streams to form a conversion feed;
sequestering at least a portion of the separated CO2 in an underground sequestration facility; and
producing one or more organic chemical products from the conversion feed,
wherein a % of net atomic carbon input into the process from fossil-derived sources is between 15% and 50%, and
wherein the organic chemical products contain less than 10% carbon derived from a fossil source.
