1. A putter-type golf club head comprising:
a putter club face defined by a toe end, a heel end, a top rail and a sole;
a plurality of grooves disposed on the putter club face between the top rail and the sole, each groove of the plurality of grooves extending between the toe end and the heel end and comprising a first horizontal wall and a second horizontal wall;
wherein the putter club face is generally planar and extends in a generally vertical orientation at an address position;
wherein each groove of the plurality of grooves is horizontally separated into a toe portion proximal the toe end of the putter club face, a heel portion proximal a heel end of the putter club face, and a center portion between the toe portion and the heel portion;
wherein a distance between the first horizontal wall and the second horizontal wall of each of the plurality of grooves defines a width;
wherein the width of each of the plurality of grooves varies in a direction extending between the heel end and the toe end;
wherein a deepest portion of at least one groove is defined by a generally planar bottom surface portion of the groove;
wherein the plurality of grooves are separated by a plurality of land portions,
wherein a width of the land portions varies in a direction extending between the top rail and the sole, or in a direction extending between the heel end and the toe end; and
wherein the lengths of the plurality of grooves increase among different grooves from the top rail to a center of the putter club face and decrease among different grooves from the center of the putter club face to the sole.
