1. A multi-mode sensor system for measuring physical parameters, the system comprising:
a compliant material having a volume enclosed by at least one surface;
a first sensor and a second sensor, each of the first and second sensors are attached to the compliant material and are separated from one another by an offset region; and
an interface device comprising a calculation circuit that adds signals from the first sensor and the second sensor to measure a first parameter at a first time and takes a difference between the signals from the first sensor and the second sensor to measure a second parameter at the first time.
