1. A network entity comprising:
a transceiver;
a memory; and
a processor communicatively coupled to the transceiver and the memory, wherein the processor is configured to transmit configuration information to a user equipment (UE) via the transceiver, the configuration information configured to cause the UE to determine, before arrival at the UE of a positioning reference signal, how much of a portion of the positioning signal to measure based on timing of the portion of the positioning signal relative to at least one of an ON time of a discontinuous reception mode of the UE or an OFF time of the discontinuous reception mode.
