1. A device, comprising:
a functional circuit configured to perform a function for controlling a light emitting diode (LED);
a power monitor circuit coupled to the functional circuit, and configured to collect power usage data of the functional circuit, wherein the power usage data provides less accuracy than power metering data of the functional circuit with respect to an amount of power utilized by the functional circuit; and
a controller coupled to the power monitor circuit and the functional circuit, and configured to:
transmit the power usage data to a master control device;
receive, from the master control device, an instruction that is based on the power usage data; and
instruct the functional circuit to perform the function based on the instruction, wherein the function comprises at least one of deactivating the LED or adjusting a brightness level of the LED.
