1. A method comprising:
determining, based on a sensor of an earphone, that an ear tip of the earphone has been at least partially inserted into an ear canal of an ear of a user;
receiving an audio signal;
determining a period of time based on the audio signal;
after the period of time while the ear tip of the earphone has been at least partially inserted into the ear canal, determining, based on the audio signal, a parameter for the ear tip of the earphone while the ear tip is at least partially inserted into the ear canal; and
causing a notification to be output, the notification indicating that the ear tip is not properly inserted into the ear canal based on a comparison between the parameter and a threshold.
