18. A computer-implemented method for authenticating requests to access a networked portal using authenticity evaluations by two or more automated decision engines, the method comprising:
receiving, from a remote computing device, a login request for access to the networked portal via the remote computing device;
using a first automated decision engine to obtain a first security determination corresponding to the login request;
using a second automated decision engine to obtain a second security determination corresponding to the login request, wherein the second automated decision engine differs from the first automated decision engine;
based on the first and second security determinations from the first and second automated decision engines, respectively, performing at least one of the following acts:
i) allowing the login request to proceed to validation of user identity;
ii) blocking the login request from proceeding to validation of user identity; or
iii) returning a challenge question to the networked portal, and providing a response to the challenge question to at least one of the first automated decision engine or the second automated decision engine;
wherein the first and second automated decision engines are adapted to evaluate whether the login request is submitted by a human user or a software robot.
