1. A method comprising:
transmitting pulse power on a first wire pair of a plurality of wire pairs, the pulse power comprising a plurality of power pulses;
performing fault detection on the first wire pair between the power pulses; and
transmitting data on a second wire pair of the plurality of wire pairs.
