1. A satellite comprising:
a plurality of input subsystems coupled with a plurality of beam groups and configured to receive communications from the plurality of beam groups, wherein each of the plurality of beam groups is associated with a corresponding input subsystem of the plurality of input subsystems and comprises a respective plurality of beams, wherein each of the plurality of input subsystems comprises respective receive components;
a plurality of output subsystems coupled with the plurality of beam groups and configured to transmit the communications to the plurality of beam groups, wherein each of the plurality of beam groups is associated with a corresponding output subsystem of the plurality of output subsystems, wherein each of the plurality of output subsystems comprises respective transmit components; and
a beam group switching subsystem configured to:
selectively couple the receive components of the plurality of input subsystems with the transmit components of the plurality of output subsystems according to a first robust beam group switching pattern for a first set of frames; and
selectively couple, upon determination of an outage of a gateway terminal associated with the first robust beam group switching pattern, the receive components of the plurality of input subsystems with the transmit components of the plurality of output subsystems according to a second robust beam group switching pattern for a second set of frames.
