1. A circuit board assembly with an edge configured for insertion into a mating connector, the circuit board assembly comprising:
a printed circuit board having internal conductive structures, a surface, and an insertion edge;
a plurality of conductive contact pads on the surface adjacent the insertion edge and electrically coupled to the internal conductive structures; and
a conductive blade, separate from the printed circuit board and mechanically coupled to the printed circuit board and having an insertion edge parallel to the insertion edge of the printed circuit board, the conductive blade comprising a continuous conductive area with a thickness that provides a cross-sectional area configured to transfer at least 300 A with a temperature rise of less than 30 degrees C. above ambient.
