1. A method comprising:
detecting, by a client-side digital content delivery device, that a client-side computing device has been unpaired from an authorized viewing device that is separate from the client-side digital content delivery device, wherein the client-side computing device has been paired to the authorized viewing device, via a communication interface between the client-side computing device and the authorized viewing device to cause digital content received from a remote server to be presented on the authorized viewing device; and
in response to detecting that the client-side computing device has been unpaired from the authorized viewing device, executing a remedial action;
wherein the communication interface is configured to receive a unique identifier associated with the authorized viewing device.
