1. A method comprising:
receiving optical measurements that are generated by a photodetector that is located outside of a container but that is in optical communication with liquid in an interior of the container, the optical measurements including at least one optical measurement that is based on detection of luminescent light that is emitted by dissolved oxygen in the liquid and that is emitted from luminescence of the dissolved oxygen in the liquid, the luminescence being induced by optical radiation that is emitted into the container and that comprises radiation at a wavelength that conforms to a dissolved oxygen absorption band, the wavelength being in the infrared spectrum; and
analyzing the optical measurements to determine whether the liquid contains dissolved oxygen.
