1. A method for operating a boiler of a humidification unit, the boiler initially filled to a first water level, the method comprising:
a) interrupting a normal operation of the humidification unit; and
b) conducting, during the interruption, a flush cycle including:
i) draining the boiler to substantially remove water from the boiler;
ii) subsequently filling the boiler with water to a second water level, the second water level being greater than the first water level;
iv) subsequently draining the boiler to substantially remove water from the boiler.
