1. A method of controlling a pump driven by a motor, the motor connected to a drive, the method comprising:
determining a water pressure value via a pressure transducer in communication with a controller connected to the drive;
calculating a pressure error based on a comparison between the determined water pressure value and a desired water pressure value;
implementing a proportional/integral/derivative (PID) method using the pressure error as an input;
updating a speed control command to adjust the drive based on the pressure error;
setting a low band pressure threshold;
determining if the motor is off;
in response to a determination that the motor is off,
monitoring the water pressure value;
determining that the water pressure value is below the low band pressure threshold; and
restarting the motor via the controller.
