a unitary, single-piece, elongated shell having opposite first and second open ends;
a circumferential bead formed in the shell, the bead including a radial protrusion;
a sleeve received in the first open end of the shell, the sleeve being disposed between the bead and the first open end;
a heat sink cap received in the first open end and engaging the sleeve;
the shell including a crimp formed at the first open end, the crimp contacting the heat sink cap and retaining the heat sink cap in the first open end; and
the shell including a lip formed at the second open end;
wherein the fluid pump includes a motor section and a pumping section, and the motor section and at least a part of the pumping section are encapsulated within the shell between the lip and the crimp.
