1. A method, comprising
manufacturing at least one plate framing member, comprising:
obtaining at wood or metal dimensional building structure framing member that is configured to form a top or bottom plate part of a wall assembly of a building structure, the framing member comprising a plate face, a framing member face, and front face and a rear face, wherein the plate face and the framing member face are substantially opposing faces of the framing member, and the front face and the rear face are substantially opposing faces of the framing member; and
securely coupling at least one compressible and pliable interface strip along a length of the framing member such that the interface strip extends over at least a portion of the plate face and the front face along the length of the framing member,
wherein the interface strip comprises at least one layer of polyvinyl chloride (PVC) foam, and
wherein the interface strip is configured such that it increases the coefficient of friction of the plate face with respect to an abutting wood, metal or composite framing component, and increases the coefficient of friction of the front face with respect to an abutting wood, metal or composite framing component, by at least 25% when the plate framing member is installed as a top or bottom plate part of a wall assembly of a building structure.
