1. A shoe upper knitted on a circular knitting machine, the shoe upper comprising:
an elongated hollow circular knit structure, comprising:
a first zone comprising a first predetermined property, wherein the first zone comprises a first yarn comprising mixed fibers of different materials that are twisted together;
a second zone comprising a second predetermined property, wherein the second zone comprises a second yarn; and
a row of stitches extending from the first zone and into the second zone, the row comprising a first section in the first zone and a second section in the second zone,
wherein the first section comprises a first number of yarn plies that comprise the first yarn,
wherein the second section comprises a second number of yarn plies that comprise the second yarn,
wherein a direction of the row of stitches changes from a first direction in the first zone to a second direction in the second zone adjacent a line of inflection for a fold in the elongated hollow circular knit structure such that the first zone and the second zone are at least partially overlapping,
wherein the second number of yarn plies is different from the first number of yarn plies,
wherein the elongated hollow circular knit structure comprises less than ten distinct ply types of yarn comprising less than five distinct materials, and
wherein a change in direction from the first direction to the second direction is created by partial knitting or selective knitting in the elongated hollow circular knit structure.
