1. A sensor-enabled apparel system comprising:
an apparel component sized and dimensioned to be worn on a user;
at least one stretchable capacitive sensor positioned on the apparel component so as to measure a biometric parameter of the user;
an illumination system configured to provide a pulsed illumination with a pulsation frequency set based on the biometric parameter of the user; and
a control module configured to control one or more settings of the illumination system in response to user input.
