1. A smokeless tobacco composition adapted for oral use, comprising a non-tobacco plant material carrying a sorbed aqueous tobacco extract,
wherein the non-tobacco plant material is selected from the group consisting of wheat, oat, corn, potato, pea, apple, cotton, bamboo, and combinations thereof and wherein the non-tobacco plant material may optionally further comprise sugar beet,
wherein the non-tobacco plant material is in the form of an aqueous-extracted pulp material, and
wherein the aqueous extracted pulp material and the sorbed aqueous tobacco extract comprise at least about 70 percent of the total dry weight of the smokeless tobacco composition.
