1. A wallbox-mountable electrical load control device, comprising:
a plurality of buttons;
a faceplate at least partially surrounding each of the plurality of buttons;
a housing for insertion into a wallbox, the housing attachable to the faceplate;
sensor circuitry positionable between the faceplate and the housing, the at least one sensor exposed to an external ambient environment to provide one or more sensor signals that include data representative of at least one sensed ambient environmental parameter;
memory circuitry; and
control circuitry communicatively coupled to the plurality of buttons, the sensor circuitry and to the memory circuitry, the control circuitry to:
receive the sensor signal from the sensor circuitry;
retrieve, from the communicatively coupled memory circuity, data representative of an active button parameter based on the at least one sensed environmental parameter;
retrieve from the memory circuitry data representative of an inactive button parameter based on the at least one sensed environmental parameter;
cause a first backlight circuit that includes one or more light-emitting diodes (LEDs) to illuminate an active button using the retrieved active button backlight intensity responsive to an actuation of the active button; and
cause a second backlight circuit that includes one or more LEDs to illuminate at least one inactive button using the retrieved inactive button backlight intensity responsive to the actuation of the active button.
