1. A method comprising:
receiving, at a first device, a pairing message from a second device requesting a pairing between the second device and the first device;
determining, by the first device, user-accessible features comprising a plurality of buttons of the second device that are accessible for the pairing, wherein the user-accessible features do not include an alphanumeric keypad on the second device;
generating, by the first device, a sequence of actions to be performed using at least a subset of the plurality of buttons of the second device, based on the user-accessible features of the second device for the pairing;
displaying, on a display device communicatively coupled to the first device and independent of the second device, the sequence of actions including the subset of the plurality of buttons to be pressed on the second device;
receiving indicia indicating which actions were performed using the subset of the plurality of buttons of the second device;
comparing the indicia to the displayed sequence of actions; and
pairing the first device with the second device based on a determination that the indicia corresponds to the displayed sequences of actions.
