1. An electronic gaming system comprising:
a tournament management system having one or more processors and one or more memory devices, wherein:
the one or more processors and the one or more memory devices are operably connected, and
the one or more memory devices store computer-executable instructions for controlling the one or more processors to:
receive information indicating win amounts associated with winning outcomes occurring on a plurality of gaming devices while the gaming devices are participating in a common tournament session of a multiplayer gaming tournament, wherein:
the plurality of gaming devices includes all of the gaming devices participating in the common tournament session and the win amounts are for all winning outcomes occurring on any of the gaming devices participating in the common tournament session at any time during the common tournament session, and
the common tournament session is of a fixed duration and all players participating in the common tournament session play simultaneously,
determine, for each win amount, a corresponding score value based, at least in part, on that win amount,
cause a first all wins multiplier feature to be activated at a predetermined first time, the first all wins multiplier feature associated with a first all wins multiplier value that is greater than one, thereby causing a first all wins multiplier mode to be activated simultaneously for all of the gaming devices participating in the common tournament session,
multiply the win amount for each winning outcome that occurs on any of the gaming devices participating in the common tournament session while the first all wins multiplier feature is active by at least the first all wins multiplier value to produce the corresponding score value for that win amount,
cause the first all wins multiplier feature to be deactivated at a second time after the predetermined first time, thereby causing the first all wins multiplier mode to be deactivated simultaneously for all of the gaming devices participating in the common tournament session, and
cause, for each score value produced, a score update message to be sent to the gaming device from which the corresponding win amount originated, the score update message indicating that score value.
