1. A computer-implemented method of identifying a personalized cardiovascular device based on patient-specific geometrical information, the method comprising:
acquiring a geometric model of at least a portion of a patient's vascular system;
determining a pathology characteristic at a location in the geometric model of the patient's vascular system by using the geometric model to perform a simulation of one or more of blood flow or structural mechanics of the patient's vascular system;
determining one or more device variables based on the determined pathology characteristic; and
recommending a device or delivery system based on the determined one or more device variables, by:
generating an optimal design for the device or delivery system based on the determined one or more device variables;
comparing the optimal design with one or more devices or delivery systems in an inventory list; and
selecting a device or delivery system from the inventory having the most similar characteristics to the optimal design as the recommended device or delivery system.
