1. A head-mounted information processing apparatus having a main body device that is used in a state of being worn on a user's head, and a controller that controls the main body device, the apparatus comprising:
the controller including:
a proximity communication interface that communicates with the main body device; and
a position/attitude sensor that detects a position/attitude of the controller;
the main body device including:
a proximity communication interface that communicates with the controller; and
a display that displays a predetermined image; and
the controller or the main body device including:
a directional detector that detects a direction of the controller by calculation based on a detected result of the position/attitude sensor;
a rotational detector that detects rotation of the controller by calculation based on the detected result of the position/attitude sensor, the direction of the controller being used as a rotational axis regarding the rotation of the controller; and
an operation instruction converter that converts a detected result of the directional detector and a detected result of the rotational detector into instructions for the main body device,
wherein the main body device has a display controller that displays a pointing point of a pointing beam or a cursor on the display, controls the pointing position in response to a movement instruction, and controls an object pointed to by the pointing position according to a trigger instruction,
wherein the operation instruction converter issues the movement instruction based on the direction of the controller that is detected by the directional detector,
wherein the operation instruction converter issues the trigger instruction in a case where a rotational amount of the rotation of the controller detected by the rotational detector exceeds a first rotational threshold value,
wherein the operation instruction converter issues a rotation starting notification in a case where the rotational amount exceeds a second rotational threshold value that is a value smaller than the first rotational threshold value, and
wherein the display controller changes the object, pointed to by the pointing position, into a provisionally selected state, in a case of receiving the rotation starting notification, and in a case of receiving the trigger instruction, changes the object from the provisionally selected state to a selected state regardless of whether the pointing position at a time of receiving the trigger instruction points to the object in the provisionally selected state.
