1. A method comprising:
at a control plane entity in a mobile network, providing to a policy and charging rules function, a notification indicating support for low latency traffic segregation using a dedicated bearer;
obtaining, from the policy and charging rules function, one or more rules for classifying traffic from a user equipment device as low latency traffic to be directed over the dedicated bearer for a local breakout by an edge user plane entity to a data network, wherein the one or more rules include a low latency traffic rule specific to the low latency traffic using the dedicated bearer and a network address translation rule for replacing a source address of packets determined to be associated with a low latency packet flow with an address of the edge user plane entity for the low latency traffic during a network address translation; and
providing the one or more rules, to the edge user plane entity, to enable the edge user plane entity to direct the packets determined to be associated with the low latency packet flow over the dedicated bearer for the local breakout to the data network and to direct the packets determined not to be associated with the low latency packet flow over a default bearer for a central breakout to the data network.
