1. A method, comprising:
establishing a connection between a first server and a client, wherein the client communicates with the first server at a first Internet protocol (IP) address;
sending, by the first server, state information to allow a second server to assume the connection; and
transferring the connection, from the first server to the second server, including moving the first IP address from the first server to the second server,
wherein moving the first IP address from the first server to the second server comprises maintaining, by a first cluster agent on the first server, a pool of movable IP addresses, including the first IP address, and transferring the first IP address to a second cluster agent on the second server.
