1. A method, comprising:
receiving, from a first node and at a second node, a packet comprising a first signature in an In-Situ Operations, Administration, and Maintenance (IOAM) data field;
generating a second signature by inputting the first signature and data associated with the second node into a hash function;
replacing the first signature with the second signature in the IOAM data field of the packet; and
forwarding, to a third node and by the second node, the packet comprising the second signature in the IOAM data field.
