1. A computer-implemented method for managing operation of an application, comprising:
authenticating a user of the application, wherein the application comprises a secured application that requires user authentication prior to providing access;
establishing a session with the application and enabling access to the application for the user when the user is authenticated;
determining, after the user is authenticated, whether the user is or remains present;
maintaining the session and the enabling of access to the application when it is determined that the user is or remains present; and
terminating the session and disabling access to the application when it is determined that the user is absent for a first predetermined duration,
wherein the authentication of the user is performed after the user has logged on to the application,
wherein after the session is terminated and the access to the application is disabled, the user has to log on to the application and repeat the authenticating in order to gain access to the application, and
wherein the computer-implemented method further comprises maintaining the session and temporarily disabling access to the application when it is determined that the user is absent for a second predetermined duration shorter than the first predetermined duration.
