1. A rotisserie device, the device comprising a support ring installable in a partially opened covered kettle grill having a metal base with an air intake vent and metal cover with a combustion product exhaust vent, wherein the base and cover each have mating sealing surfaces that contact one another when the grill cover is fully closed and the support ring is not installed between the base and cover, and the support ring comprises:
a. a chock portion that when installed in such grill between and in contact with the base and cover sealing surfaces has (i) a tapered height with a wedge-shaped side profile that holds the cover sealing surface at an angle of about 3 to about 25 degrees with respect to the base sealing surface, and (ii) a sidewall that substantially limits or prevents airflow into and out of the grill sufficiently to permit extinguishment of burning coals in the grill when the intake vent and exhaust vent are closed;
b. one or more apertures in the support ring that can receive a removable, rotatable rotisserie spit;
c. a rotatable, removable rotisserie spit that can be received in the one or more apertures;
d. two or more opposing tined, movable forks that can secure food on the spit during grilling; and
e. an electric reduction gear drive motor that can be removably mounted on and rotatably fixed with respect to the support ring and which can rotate the spit during grilling.
