1. A method performed by a terminal in a wireless communication system, the method comprising:
receiving, from a base station, a radio resource control (RRC) message including a configuration of at least one band and a configuration of a primary band for the terminal, wherein the configuration of the at least one band includes at least one of a subcarrier spacing, a cyclic prefix, or information on frequency domain location and bandwidth for the at least one band;
monitoring, from the base station, a control channel on the primary band; and
receiving, from the base station, downlink control information indicating an active band from the at least one band on the control channel.
