1. An electric machine for an aircraft, the electric machine comprising:
a stator and a rotor rotatable with respect to the stator, the rotor or the stator comprising a plurality of permanent magnets;
a demagnetizing device that is configured to demagnetize at least one permanent magnet of the plurality of permanent magnets to implement a temporary temperature increase of the at least one permanent magnet in order to limit an exciter magnetic flux generated by the at least one permanent magnet during the temporary temperature increase;
a winding arranged so that an induced electrical current circulates in the winding under the influence of an exciter magnetic flux produced by the at least one permanent magnet during the rotation of the rotor; and
a winding fault sensor,
wherein the demagnetization device generates the temporary temperature increase of the at least one permanent magnet when a winding fault is detected by the winding fault sensor.
