1. A peripheral device for a magnetic resonance tomography unit, the peripheral device comprising:
a first sensor configured to receive an optical data signal from an environment of the peripheral device;
a second sensor adjacent to the first sensor, wherein the first sensor is configured to generate a first output signal from the optical data signal and the second sensor is configured to generate a second output signal from the optical data signal, wherein the first output signal has an amplitude inverse to the second output signal;
an inverter configured to invert the first output signal from the first sensor; and
a summing element configured to add the inverted first output signal from the first sensor and the second output signal from the second sensor to a sensor signal;
wherein the peripheral device is configured to execute signal processing in dependence on the optical data signal;
wherein a frequency of the optical data signal is greater than a Larmor frequency of the magnetic resonance tomography unit.
